Nandurbar is an Adivasi district of Maharashtra state, and Dhadgaon is one of the six tehsils of it. Most of the land of Dhadgaon is located in the seven ranges of Satpuda (7 Ranges) Mountain up to Narmada river. It is located between the 4 and 5 ranges of the Satpuda Mountain. It is totally hilly and remote area. The residents of the area belongs to the Schedule tribe and Schedule caste communities. They live in hamlets and their social, economical and educational condition is very pitiable, and the proportion of education is very lower one. They are still far away from the mainstream of education.

Honorable Shri. Janardan Poharya Valvi felt worried about the society. He was the first MLA of Akrani constituency. He was also known as ‘Maharaj Baba’. He was awarded as a ‘Adiwasi Sevak’ ‘Dalit Mitra’. He was inspired by Thakkar Bappa. He decided to up lift the society, and education is the only way to solve all the problems of the tribal community.
In 1964, he established Adivasi Satpuda Shikshan Prasarak Mandal. It’s contribution is really noteworthy. The trust has now 27 branches in the three tehsils Akrani, Shahada, Akkalkuwa of Nandurbar district. The President worked very hard and created awareness regarding education.
The Adiwasi Satpuda Shikshan Prasarak Mandal has now turned into a large banyan tree.
People who live in the seven ranges of Satpuda Mountain and who were deprived of education, now they have started coming into the main stream of education. The trust is providing qualitative education to the students of this area. Institution is running Aashram School, Secondary and Higher Secondary or Junior Colleges, and Boarding school, etc.
After completion of standard 12th the tribal students have either to go to Nandurbar, Dhule, or Shahada which are far from this place or many of the students have to leave or stop their education because of their financial condition. So many students were deprived of the higher education.
Late Honorable Janardan Valvi, Founder President, felt worried about the critical situation of the students of the tribal community. He met and consulted with educationalists like Dr. K.B.Patil, Former Vice Chancellor of KBC NMU, Jalgaon, and showed his eagerness regarding higher education. Thus, the senior college was started in 1993. Initially the art faculty was approved by the Government of Maharashtra. Honorable President Late Maharaj Janardan Valvi did not stop here.
He wanted to create scientific and business outlook in the tribal students. In 2008-09, Science faculty and 2013-14 Commerce faculties were started by the institution. Late Janardan Valvi (Maharaj Baba) worked day-night for the tribal community till his death.
After the death of founder president, the charge of the trust was handed over to his son. Honorable Bhika Bhai Valvi who also continued the heritage of the social and educational service, but it was a great shock when honorable Bhika Bhai Valvi died suddenly. Honorable Shri. Hemant Valvi took the charge as a President of the trust. He is also working in the same way as his grandfather did in the past. He has continued the heritage to work alike Babasaheb Janardan Pohrya Valvi.
Honorable Shri. Hemant Bhai Valvi is the president of the trust Adivasi Satpuda Shikshan Prasarak Mandal. He has kept in mind the values led down by the father of nation, Mk Gandhi, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Doctor Babasaheb Ambedkar, Shankar Vinayak Thakar etc.
The executive board is strict in the imparting education discipline, moral value and code of conduct. Our college is a single college in whole tehsil of Akrani. It provides qualitative and valuable education. It has got permanent affiliation with KBC NMU, Jalgaon and has been recognized by UGC, New Delhi, Under section 2F and 12B. The campus of the College is pollution free. It is the right place for the students to pursue education.
The college follows the rules and regulations and maintains the discipline and quality in its administration. College has well qualified teaching staff. There are sixteen full time teachers out of which nine teachers have doctoral degree in the respective subjects. There are four teachers having M. Phil. degree and four teachers have qualified NET/SET and one of the teacher has CSIR –JRF. The college is running UC program and PG program in Marathi. Some of the teachers have been recognized as Ph.D. guides of KBC. North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.
The college has excellent building and infrastructures with the campus of five acres. It
has a special administrative wing, well equipped laboratories, library building having a treasure of books, test books, reference books and play ground. Besides, the academic facilities, the college also provides the facilities to the students of Schedule tribe , Schedule caste and Other Backward Classes. It is the aim of the college to make at least one graduate from each hamlet. It has been providing opportunities to the students for their educational, social and economical upliftment.
` The college runs various schemes for the needy, poor and economically weaker students. There are 99 % of the students of the college belong to reserve categories of ST, SC, NT and
OBC. The college provides facilities of free ship, and scholarship. The students are economically very poor, so the college provides Wi-Fi facilities for downloading and printing of various academic documents. The college has Central library which has reading room for the girls and the boys as well as the teaching staff. It has rich treasure of more than 11000 books. The library remains open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on all working days. The college was visited by the NAAC peer team in 2005and accredited with C++. At present we are sincerely and honestly preparing AQAR and going to face the second cycle of NAAC accreditation.
